Severe Use Cabinet

  1. Face Frame: 3/4" kiln-dried red oak or maple glued and screwed for long-term rigidity and strength.
  2. End Panels: 1/2" plywood fastened to face frame with tongue-and-groove. When specified, end panels are finished with wood veneer to match face frame finish.
  3. Back Panel: 1/4" plywood.
  4. Top/Bottom Panels: Wall cabinets constructed of 1/2" plywood dadoed into end panels and interlocked into hanging rails for strength. Base bottoms constructed similarly of 1/2" plywood.
  5. Hanging Rails: 3/4" x 3 1/2" hardwood rails on upper cabinets. 3/4" x 7" hardwood on base cabinets.
  6. Base Cabinet Braces: 1/2" x 2 1'2" plywood braces running full depth front to back of cabinets. Braces dadoed into face frame and end panels.
  7. Shelves: 1/2" plywood with edge banding. Wall shelving adjustable up to 24" wide. Base cabinets feature 11" deep half-shelf.
  8. Toe Kick: 3/4" pressure treated solid lumber on three sides of cabinet. Standard 2 1/2" deep and 3 1/2" tall toe space. Matching veneer finish toe base cover.
  9. Drawers: 11/16" solid hardwood sides and back with 1/4" plywood bottomlet into all four sides. Sides mortise and tenoned into front with back dadoed into sides. Drawer front constructed to match cabinet door material and style.
  10. Drawer Guides: 100 lb. rated epoxy-coated drawer guides standard.
  11. Doors: 8 doors available. Only Bristol 3/4" plywood slab door is KCMA Severe Use certified.
  12. Hardware: Semi-concealed, barrel hinges are standard. Fully-concealed hinges available upon request.
  13. Interior Finish: All interior surfaces are finished with light birch wood grain melamine that provides extreme resistance to water, alcohol, mild acids and household chemicals.
  14. Exterior Finish: Exposed wood surfaces are finished with stain, sealer and catalyzed varnish, providing extreme resistance to water, alcohol, mild acids and household chemicals.
  15. Handicap Requirements: All cabinets can be modified to accommodate ADA and Fair Housing specifications.
  16. Warranty: Certified by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association to exceed or meet industry standards for construction and performance. Mid-America also exceeds or meets standards of ANSI A161.1-1990. All Mid-America cabinets carry a one-year warranty from date of purchase against defective material and workmanship. Any defective part will be replaced. This does not include labor, installation or transportation cost. Warranty does not apply to damages due to improper handling, installation or use.
